About AskMoney

AskMoney gives free, plain answers to money questions. We start with the one that makes people panic most: why did my credit score just drop?

Money works differently in every country, and nobody hands you the rules when you arrive. That's why we pay special attention to people starting from zero in the US: students, newcomers and immigrants building a credit history for the first time.

Who is behind it

AskMoney is made by Nil Ni, an early Credit Karma employee on the product and credit score team. The diagnoser's rules and every guide are written or reviewed by him.

What we are not

We are not a lender, a credit bureau or a credit repair company. We never check your credit, and we never ask for your Social Security number. Nothing on this site is financial, legal or investment advice for your situation.

How we make money

Today, we don't. In the future the site may show ads and may link to financial products. When it does, we will say so clearly on the page, and it will never change what we tell you. See our advertiser disclosure and editorial standards.
